Certificate of Competence: ICC Boat Licence

Course Description

Certificates of Competence: ICC Boat Licence We are authorised to assess the competence of operators of sailing yachts and motor vessels of any length for the ICC and sign their application to the RYA to indicate that they have passed the assessment. On receipt of the Application Form signed by one of our assessors, the RYA will issue an ICC Boat Licence (International Certificate of Competence) for sailing yachts and motor vessels of any length on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA). This certificate will allow you to helm these types of vessel abroad. It is not a universal license but is fast becoming the worldwide standard, for example it is not needed for helming these vessels in the UK, but still would help reduce your insurance costs. The syllabus for the assessment is published in the ICC Application form (see Documentation below) or candidates can purchase the RYA ICC Handbook to guide them through the requirements.
