Yateley is situated at the “Three Counties Corner” of Hampshire, Surrey & Berkshire and our Club "Catchment Area" includes Camberley, Bracknell, Eversley, Farnborough, Sandhurst and Wokingham. We are about 50 miles from the popular sailing waters of the Solent where most of our Members keep their boats.

The Yateley Offshore Sailing Club was founded in September 1991 in Yateley by a group of past members of these RYA shore based evening classes whose mutual interest was sailing with the principal objective to promote and facilitate the sport of sailing and recreational boating. In 2009 following the closure of our Yateley premises, we moved to our current headquaters at Sandhurst.

In the summer season we run sailing rallies and and social events through the year. About once a month we are entertained and informed by a guest speaker on topics of general interest to our Members including some marine related topics. We welcome both boat owners and non-boat owners  who wish to enjoy the benefits of sailing in company.

The Club Newsletter is published by our Editor on the first of each month and distributed to all members optionally by post or email. There is an introductory article by the Commodore with the latest Club news and  Members are invited to send illustrated articles on their sailing  exploits or anything of interest. The Newsletter also has current updates to the sailing and social programmes.

We are a recognised RYA training centre offering on-demand RYA Day Skipper and Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Offshore Theory courses. See our Training Page for more details.

On Mondays from around 9 pm, we meet at the Sandhurst Social Club with its comprehensive Club facilities and licensed bar for an informal chat and drink. Members can swap ideas, exchange information with others on good mooring spots and quiet anchorages, offer berths to members without boats to enable them to get in some sailing hours for their logs and to give practical help to the boat owners.

We have had some very enjoyable social and sailing trips in member's boats including cross Channel trips, dinghy sailing on Hawley Lake, visits to South Coast marinas and anchorages, several Solent rallies and barbecues plus the Club's Island Cup Event presented to the yacht with the most accurate estimated time "Round the Island" where all entrants have an equal opportunity to win.

Our annual two-week Summer Cruise gives Members the opportunity to cruise in company to Normandy or Brittany and the Channel Islands calling at convenient ferry ports for crew to join or leave.
